I know it is sometimes difficult not to get sucked in to the surface
culture of the conspiracy, and start taking it all very seriously,
debating the finer points and details of whatever pop culture product or
news product is being promoted at the moment. I discovered a way some
years ago to free myself from the obligation to take it at all
seriously. I call it the Japanese Solution to Conspiracy Mindcontrol
Slavery.

Whenever I see a newsproduct story or a popculture item which disturbs
or fascinates me and I don't want to waste hours or days of my life
thinking, talking, being outraged, debating about it with others, I just
say to myself, "What if it was Japanese?" Then I simply can't take it
seriously. Teenage boys aping the attire and mannerisms of criminals?
If they were Japanese, I would realize it's all pretend. Ofensive antics
of the latest popstar or film performer? If they were Japanese I would
realize they were entirely manufactured as a media product and have no
connection at all with reality. Newsproduct monopoly of magazines and
television with the grisly details of the "terrible ordeal" of some
child somewhere on the opposite side of the continent? If it were a
story from Japan I wouldn't care. Political drama? When I see a
Japanese cabinet minister apologizing or resigning I don't give a
damn.

I don't imagine the audience in their underwear, I imagine them all
Japanese.

What the fuck says you have to take it seriously to be pissed off at it?

I tried imagining all the perpetrators of all manner of idiocy as half
their physical size, and pre-adolescent in age. The imagery made it all
make PERFECT SENSE. But then I was just more precisely pissed off.

I get pissed off about the little things because I can do something about
that. The big things, the things that push evolution towards the
catastrophic readjustment known as extinction, those I cheer on.

(Japanese Solution snipped)

Wouldn't it be more theraputic just to think of killing everyone
involved? The subject, their family, the police, the reporters,
and especially everyone else who is dumb enough to *care* about it.

You have to be creative to channel your aggression that way. It's
like a job where you get paid a dollar for every chicken you can
think of, and a dollar-fifty if it's a brown one--but only if you
really *think* about them chickens--not just briefly consider a
whole bunch of them milling around a pen.

I had a job like that once. It was sorta high tech.

Now I just think about how to kill everyone who still works there.
