Finding a loaded Colt .45 revolver, about 36 boxes of ammo, and a bottle
of ether in my uncle's basement when I was five. Shot up a water heater,
about 50 jars of canned tomatoes and my uncle's palsied beagle.

World: Sky/clouds seen for the first time.

Life: Taking that ROTTEN lifespoiling BITCH down with a flying tackle. Sat
on her chest and pinned her arms down hard. She was terrified of snakeskins,
of all things. I had a whole one just for her, crisp and long, which I
dangled over her head menacingly.
Then I dropped it right on her ugly shrieking bitch face.
If you've ever enjoyed seeing someone who RICHLY DESERVED IT get theirs,
imagine what it's like to FEEL THEM physically underneath you, bucking like
mad, absolutely helpless, screaming their foul head off in unimaginable
terror, and YOU FEEL ALL OF IT, every tremor, through your whole body, ass
first. Keep your amusement park rides. Wildest laughter I savor to this
day.
That was the only time I allowed myself to fully fight back.

Snakeskin, huh?
that's truly lovely. I am impressed.

there are many; none is favorite. On reflection:
Running around in the swamps with my Husky-Dog companion.
Playing with Legos. Listening to the Steve Miller Band and the
Jackson Five. My older hepcat babysitter. the seventies. the
treehouse. Hanging out out in the Vulture-nesting tree that
everyone was afraid of. the fact that the vultures dug me being
there. Being told by an extended-family member that the way to
get the big kid to quit bothering me was to sneak up behind him
and whack him behind the knees with a log, completely
unprovoked, and making a freind of the big kid after that to him.
Playing in the rain. The first time I went into the giant
skaeboard park, where I simultaneously heard "Jive talkin'" for
the first time. Swinging on wild vines. Swinging. Kissing.
Kissing at the swings. Swinging at night. Stevie Wonder. The
Kinks. The first time I heard the "Surfin USA" album. the
Ktel "Goofy Greats" album. The time the 5 year old neighbor girl
(I was four) and I showed each other our genitalia (which
resulted in a frantic 3-hour makeout session in the back of a
car in 1992 when we met again after her parents split us up
in '75). Seeing an alien when I was six. the discovery that I
had premonitions about what my school looked like the first time
I arrived on the playground. The mystery of the Devil painting.
being innocent enough to like John Denver a LOT. Saturday Night
Fever. How the hair on my neck stood up the first time I saw a
DEVO video. Hiding the AM radio under my pillow at night to
listen to the New Wave raio show.
the First time I heard "Mexican Radio"; the first time I
heard "Duran Duran". My hilljack family playing music together
on the porch during Bluegrass tiki parties.
The Moon. Performing my first excorcism at age nine.

Sigh.

I was in third grade and Sylvia gave me a hug. She was a tall girl. My
face went right between her breasts and I think I got excited about that
but didn't know why. I thought about it until many years later I came in
the bathtub. I thought I was going to die. What was this white shit coming
out of me, I thought.
