It reminds of when you are a 11-13 year old male
and your Mom finds some of your porn collection, burns
it, and then start searching for the rest of it. You hide it
you deny you have any more, and when she finds more
you tell her that is the last one. You will DO ANYTHING
to keep the rest of it, lie to her face, accept the spankings,
bury it in the backyard behind the doghouse if necessary.

Cool analogy.

What does Israel remind you of? It has 200-400 nuclear weapons of mass
destruction, has never allowed ONE International weapons inspector into the
country, and has violated dozens of U.N. resolutions (some people say 69, and
that's a cool number, you know).

Israel, compared to Iraq, is the bully who beats up on the smaller boy, and then
when the police officer and the parents comes to stop the fight and ask
whodunnit, shouts loud and long that Iraq started it, and that Iraq should be
punished and not Israel. And then, when the police officer starts to figure out
the truth, the parents bribe the police officer with money and say they'll
spread rumors about him if he tells the truth.

Cool.

Israel reminds me of school integration.

In particular, a Jewish kid with a large,
special-ed big brother who is unpredictable
and brutal, is sent to an inner-city school
of mostly black kids, black teachers and
administrators.

He doesn't belong, being white and different,
so the black kids start picking on him. He
can't rely on his big brother for too much,
other than to give him an endless assortment
of weapons to threaten the black kids with;
and to keep the real big black kids, that
are his older brother's age, away from him.

He runs circles around the black kids in his
schoolwork, however, and even starts to take
karate lessons so he can beat up any of his
peers that threaten him. His biggest worry
is that a group of the black kids will circle
him then one will pull out a weapon from
behind and it will all be over.

So he gets a gun. And he lets them know that
if they ever try to kill him, he will take
down one or more of them. So they back off.

Last but not least, he has been assigned a
puny black kid to tutor. The little black
kid hates him, and is always trying to get
with other black kids to do him dirt. And
as much as he tries to keep the little black
kid under control, the kid keeps cursing at
him and hitting him and trying to stab him,
and is generally a pain in the ass.

I think that's a pretty good analogy.

You forgot the best part! The interrogation!

"Where did you get this?"

"Why are you reading this?"

"I really want to know. WHY are you reading
this?"

well what you should have done is told her, in a strained voice "it's
the only way I can stop myself thinking about YOU, mom!"

er no.

On second thought.

Probably not.

A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless
interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull

Iraq reminds me of Bob Dean, because both of them are like an insane
poodle who has just made a big, runny, messy one on a white carpet.
They stand there over it, snarling insanely and protecting it while it
seeps into the fiber. You finally lose it and smash 'em in the head
with a pipe wrench. Then you are left with both the dumpskie and the
dead, oozing poodle corpse with the fleas leaping off and looking for
new quarters. What a mess.

Me against my brother; me and my brother against our enemy; me, my
brother and our enemy against the outsider; and all of US against the
insane, snapping poodle who keeps shitting on the carpet we all have
to walk on. What a mess.
