Dig this. We didn't even see it coming.

A football field sized meteor passed us just 75,000 miles out on June 14. (some satellites are farther out than that) Big enough to have caused some real shit had it hit a populated area. Wherever it might have hit, there would have been about a 1200 square mile clean slate.

The best part is that nobody saw it until three days after it passed us. Meaning we wouldn't have known a thing until the sky turned to fire.

It's kinda' wild to think that all our little problems would be so easily 'solved' in a moment, and with absolutely no notice until the thing was 'in the wire.'

Well, there is always XD5...

Sung to the tune of "Streets of Laredo"

As I was out walking the streets of the city As I was out walking the city all doomed I spied a bright spot in the sunny day skyline That bright spot in the skyline grew big as the moon

Then bigger and bigger it sure got oh-so fast And all the people they tried to escape from the street For that spot in the sky turned into a fireball And the city ignited from the intense heat

Come sit down beside me and bring me some water To soothe my poor eyes that are burned from the glare We all thought ourselves snug and safe from the cosmos Until a space traveler burned off all our hair

The planet's oblivious to space rocks of fury A meteor's traveling inside the wire
But not one of the humans appears to see it Until it's too late and the sky is on fire

Now maybe one day all the monkeys will get it That fighting each other is futile at best The battle they should have prepared for in earnest Was traveling from deep space to put them to the test

So beat the drum slowly
And smoke your pipe lowly
Play the dead march for the whole human race Take me from the charred valley
Lay the body bag o'er me
For I looked up at it and it burned off my face.
