WTF???

Did he die today or something? Now, I checked CNN and all that before I
posted this, and AFAIK he is still alive. Course, the big news ops go
to sleep early on Saturday.

So, if not, well, hell, he was an OK actor, kinda in the league of
Bradford Dillman only more people would reknize him cuz he squinted a
bit like Rumsfeld, or at least flashed his teeth kinda the same way.

But not worthy of a retrospective IMHO. Unless it's a PBS special
shared with James Whitmore and so on as a general retrospective of 70's
actors who are still breathing.

assumed room temperature, bit the dust, bought
the farm, breathed his last, came to the end of
the road, cashed in his chips, cooled off, croaked,
deep sixed, expired, gave up the ghost, headed for
the hearse and the last roundup, kicked off, kicked
the bucket, lay down one last time, lay with the
lilies, left this mortal plane, met his maker, met
Mr. Jordan, passed away, cashed in his chips, passed
on, perished, permanently changed his address, pushed
up daisies, returned to dust, slipped his cable,
slipped this mortal coil, sprouted wings, took the
last count, traveled to kingdom come, turned up his
toes, went across the creek, went belly up, went to
glory, went the way of all flesh, went to his final
reward, went west, went for a short trip south.

Or, my fav: "Got triple his money back."

Ahh, fuck. A few seconds after my post, the flash came across
ABCNEWS.COM.

Hey, nu-monet, you left out "he sings with the choir invisible, he has
ceased to be, he is an EX ACTOR".

I assume the authorities involved quickly ruled out the "stunned"
theory.

I think it's noteworthy that he died just after
they announced a new Rambo movie, with Rambo
"taking on" Osama bin Laden.

Which means he died of embarassment.

Assuming John Rambo was 18 years old at the end
of the Vietnam War in 1972, which would also
assume that he got 4 purple hearts, 4 bronze
stars, 2 silver stars, a Distinguished Service
Cross and a Medal of Honor within one year,
this would make him about 49 years old today.

Of course this doesn't take into account all
those years of Rambo fighting the Nazis.

The story of his death is now the last entry on the CNN page as of about
12:45 eastern. When it finally rolls off the "front page", does that
mean he isn't dead any more?

Is that how it works? Or does everybody start forgetting him at that
point?

Ordinarily, yes. However, in this case, he will
briefly be dead again when they start the public
debate over who will replace him in the new
"Rambo" movie.

My guesses are Gary Busey, Charles Napier, Tommy
Lee Jones, Michael Ironside or Denzel Washington.
