Wormy Monday

It's been like this the last several Mondays. During the weekend, the
number of Swen Worm emailings I get dwindles to only about two dozen a
day. (Swen is the one with the .exe attachment that purports to be from
"Network Security" or "Microsoft Internet" or whatnot, but just causes
itself to replicate.)

Then, starting Monday morning when Fred Fuckwitz goes to work and
re-infects his PC, all of the sudden I start getting 20 or more an
hour. My first download at 8 EST was ALMOST NORMAL. When I checked an
hour later, WHAMO, worm farm in the mail box.

All this shit's filtered, I don't have to remove it manually, but
#^^$&#$ nonetheless. The one GOOD thing about it is that it gives me a
good excuse to ignore legitimate email.

This has been my whiney complaint for the day. It is free. For
thoughtful observations and crowing cries of triumph and victory, see
a.b.s. (we take credit cards).

I did it and it appears to be working. Copied my email prog's filters
list over to the blacklist (MANUALLY!!@^#%#$$#). I still have an excuse
to ignore legit mail; I can always say my clumsy blacklist screwed it
up. If I continue to add all those From: "Microsoft Inet Mail Security
etc." combos as they come up, that should poison most of the wormies
before they get a chance to crawl into my in-box. I'm not using Windows
so the worms can't infect me but they sure have been slowing my
downloads until now.
