Hey, that movie All About My Mother by Almodovar is really good. Seems
a lot more mature and professional than some of his other things, though
maybe not as much "fun" as Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down and Women On The etc.
Really makes the season bright, especially Penelope Cruz as a nun
impregnated and given HIV by a transsexual junkie hooker. No, really,
it's handled in a very sensitive manner. Everybody's kitchen is SO NICE
and colorful, hell their whole apartments are wonderful.
I turned on the TV and they were showing Holiday Inn as usual, the
"Sisters" number where they are wearing those blue dresses that are all
lace and chiffon and waving huge ostrich plume fans and then they show
Bing and Danny wearing identical grey suits and neckties and I go "Oh
WHY was I born a MAN." Really, if you had a choice why WOULD you wear a
grey suit and a necktie instead of blue lace and chiffon? All fagginess
aside. All things being equal I mean.
