"Bob" sightings of the moment

A new book has an entry on the Church of the SubGenius:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=t82v1BXAH9&isbn=0760757089&itm=1

"Think You're The Only One? Oddball groups where outsiders fit in."

It's another "humor" book, so naturally we're included in there. The
book has some other entries we're familiar with, including
Discordianism and the Church of Volkswagenism. And as usual, we're
left out of the most recent books on "new religious movements." The
entry in this book isn't bad, though.

Also: You've seen the new commercial for Virgin music, "Merry
Christmanukkwanzaa," right? You *do* see that the guy announcing the
commercial as all religions in one is smoking "Bob's" pipe, right?
(Yes, I know there's a reindeer in there who calls himself a
Scientologist. If they can have their reference, then we can have
ours.)

So The Church of Subgenius is written about as "those which have frequently
attracted the angry attention of authorities."

Why is this so?

Because Osoma Bin Laden is too far away for them to direct their angry
attention towards.

In addition, I personally exude a pheremone that makes people think of
warm, home-made bread thick with fresh butter and they're taken with the
pleasure of the sensation and they hover around me and we all get
nervous after a while and man, its just plain creepy. I can't explain it
to anyone but you and you are all bots. Yizzir, that's one hell of
pickle, Connie said to the beefy butcher.

Oh yeah. That stuff I did.

They emailed me about that book several times and I gave them various
answers and permissions. I never saw a copy of the book, though. I
would love to see what it says about us.

I have now read in TWO British books that I have become very rich off
the Church of the SubGenius.

Gee, maybe the Enzyte people should sue them for trademark infringement.

would you say the Church has brought more frickin' assholes your way
than interesting people you're glad to have met?
