My Computer is HEALED!!

I just played the entire 24 minute version of the 6X-Day video, not a
copy but the Final Cut Pro master with all the transitions and tracks,
without pausing, copying it into a DV camera for a safety tape copy,
and it didn't crash!

And all I had to do was REMOVE that 500 mb DRAM memory chip I got from
those LYING MOTHERTFUCKERS at CRUCIAL, who sold me the faulty chunk of
hardware, this clattering kaliope of cartilagenous junk, er... sumthin.

So now everything runs a TEENY bit slower, not much, and no doubt
sooner or later I'll come to a Photoshop filter or, god forbid, one of
these new effects filters I shoved into Final Cut Pro, which says "YOU
DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FUCKING MEMORY, ASSHOLE," whereupon I'll have to
agree, and even add, "I ain't got enough of ANY kinds of memory,
Chief!"

BUT! Until then, I just have to crow and bleat that I was smart enough
to try removing something I was stupid enough to add in the first
place.

Those fulks at Crucial SWORE that that DRAM was compatible with a
single G4 that had been upgraded from 400 to 1300 mhz with that
specific processor. DOCTOR TILLES WAS RIGHT!! Crucial LIES!! They lied
right into my face over the phone. Either that or all their gear sold
to SuBGenii who ever once lived in Texas is just plain bad.

Boy it sure feels great though to edit all day with NO CRASHES. And
this whole time I thought it was the processor overheating.

This is like a reprieve, like being in an iron lung for a year and you
think you'll be there forever but suddenly there's a cure. Or you're in
prison unjustly for murder when after a year the real killer is caught
and you're exhonerated. Well maybe not that great but great enough to
stop editing to brag about.

The 24 minute version of 6X-Day is really pretty funny, and largely
made so by the JUDICIOUS EDIT DECISIONS, I must say. Admittedly this is
the fourth major recut of this footage. It would probably be ten times
better if I cut it down to 2.4 minutes next. I just can't erase it
until I'm SURE I've fucked it to death. The trick now however is to not
subgenius it up by overdoing the effects and transitions filters just
because I CAN and WANT TO.

Meanwhile the Mercury has gone in to Jihad Brothers Motors for to get
the tie-rod fixed and the nonexistent brakes made once again extant,
just in case I ever need to drive somewhere again. Plus the
registration has come around again, and we can't register it until it's
E-checked, and I won't drive it to the E-check place with almost no
brakes and a fucked up tie rod. Now is that a fucked up string of
priorities or what. It wasn't really all that dangerous as long as
there wasn't ice on the road. I had been hoping winter would forget to
come, but it didn't forget.

OK OK SLACK SLACK

As I clicked on the link to open your post my computer warthog crashed.
I hope it wasn't the Anti-Bob looking for an out at Jihad Brothers
Motors.

By the way I read your report from Texas and the concrete fucking
gorilla in Bush Country had me laughing so hard I had to visit the
porcelain pony twice in a row.

I would suggest checking with Kingston memory. I've had to get memory for
everything from Compaq servers to Dell workstations to Sun Sparcstations
and they've always matched it up correctly. That and they have pretty good
warranties on their products.
