I'm *not* rushing here in a panic, begging for help to defend the
innocent encyclopedia from an invasion of white supremacist wackos.
I'm posting it here so y'all can see just how paranoid and small-minded
those idiots really are. It's difficult to find a message anywhere at
all on their message board that doesn't make a reference to Jews and
"Zionists," for instance. The narrow-mindedness of these guys amazes
me -- they seem to do *nothing* but rant about Jews, 24 hours a day,
seven days a week!

The intellectual dishonesty behind this deletion is so obvious as to make
the entire situation an obscene caricature of the wikipedia,
feeding the flames of the organizations which sought to become
involved in the election. Wouldn't the obvious, common sense thing
to do be to have waited for the deadline, and made a fair and balanced
decision based on the consensus or lack thereof? Read "Culture of critique",
and see if you can walk away without seeing the black irony.
Situations such as this illustrate exactly what is wrong with the wikipedia:
Cliques of biased users flocking around obscure and controversial pages,
vigorously enforcing their POV. I am reminded of Larry Sanger's insightful
point about the anti-elitism here, and the degradation of article quality it creates.
