Kevin Carlyon, the nutjob who promoted a big ceremony to contact the
Loch Ness Monster (and we have yet to hear a word about what happened
that day), is now going to perform an exorcism on Aleister Crowley's
bed. I thought exorcisms were performed mainly by Catholic priests?

I can but assume that the exorcism will involve
a vaccuum cleaner, followed by the use of copious
amounts of bedbug & lice powder, oxygen bleach,
and Febreeze?

Kevin is not a "nutjob" he's a hoaxer...Read Fortean Times magazine. He just
does all this stuff like a Subgenius would do it, for publicity and money.
But yes, you have to be an ordained Priest in the Catholic Church to do a
proper Latin Rite Exorcism. Shamans can do other types as I am sure Baptists
and other weirdoes can do. All meaningless papa really. Since there are no
such thing as demons and such like drivel.

a Subgenius would do it purely for the looks on their faces.

Well, considering that he doesn't make any real money doing these
preposterous hoaxes, then we can say that he is perhaps "like unto a
Subgenius."

I am amazed that you can be posting to alt.slack and say such a thing.
The facts stand arrayed against you, as do the demons and drivelers.

Oh, not at all. I'll do ya one for $20. I am a HellPope, so it comes
naturally. DO read the disclaimer first, but I'll do it. When it works,
its grand. Fireworks and everything. I take the demon into myself and
when it sees what its up against, it goes yelping off into the ether
like a stomped cheewawa. Great fun and educational for the kids as well!
