If I could post to alt.binaries.slack ...

(I'm blocked from doing so at work, and my home connection is waaay too
slow!)

If I could post to a.b.s, I'd post my track "Halfaqsnax." I think it
has the proper attitude (or lassitude) and would be dandy for
featurement in some future Hour of Slack broadcast. And it's about
time I started giving back to the community, eh?

The track is on my Soundclick page

Slow: http://www.soundclick.com/util/streamM3U.m3u?ID=924016&q=Lo
Fast: http://www.soundclick.com/util/streamM3U.m3u?ID=924016&q=Hi
Download: http://www.soundclick.com/util/DownloadSong.cfm?ID=924016

... and on my Ampcast page

Slow:
http://www.ampcast.com/LST-66966-mus-24-4012562-0-0-0-DLDLZTJSNGXREOFQ/Halfaqsnax.m3u
Fast:

Download:

In fact, any of you broadcasters are welcome to use any of my online
tracks. Many are quite slack-intensive, while some others are probably
too tense for your purposes. And then there's "Jack n Cats" wich is
just fucked up.

One solution is to use your works' high bandwidth
to upload to a website forwarder, directed to a
SubGenius who will re-post your files to a.b.s.
Any of these three free sites will do, but their
techniques are a little different.

http://www.dropload.com/

http://www.simple-share.net/

http://s16.yousendit.com/

You can upload a file up to about 1GB on average,
then your re-poster downloads it off the web, and
re-posts it to a.b.s.

Well, as the above "Download" links imply, mp3s are already online.

So ... If any Subgenius wishes to download the mp3 (or any of the
other ones) and then upload it to a.b.s, it's fine by me!

Well, granted, it was kind of a "for future
reference" thing. But the idea of using a
work computer to upload bulldada has its charm.

I know a guy whose home computer was on a
$6.95/mo dialup, but worked at a restaurant
with high speed WIFI. So he got a cheap
laptop that he took into work, with 2 different
p2p apps, agent, and some auto-surf prog that
would visit all the web pages he would have
visited and saved them to his HD. He didn't
even open it up to look at the monitor, just
let it do its thing.

At the end of the day, he would go home with
a little work bonus of files he had downloaded
for free.

Thanks.

How d'ya think I've been downloading the HoS? The blocking here at
work is idiosyncratic, to be polite about it. For instance, I can go
to radio4all.net, but not subgenius.com (or org or whichever it is.)

I know, it's my workplace's system, and they have the right to do as
they wish, so I'm not really complaining.

Upon further reflection, I started to wonder: Are there web-based
newsreader/posters that can take an attachment from an url?

I'm asking 'cuz soundclick (for example) has an upload page with an
option of grabbing the mp3 from a website (using wget, I imagine)
rather than uploading it from the user's computer. So if something
does the same thing with binary posting to newsgroups, I'd be set. I
could upload quickly to my own site from here at work, and then use any
speed connection to create the post to a.b.s., perhaps from home.

Also, I forgot to mention that my track "Namedropping at the Clergy
Picnic," available at the sites I mentioned before, is probably nearest
in spirit to CotS, tho if you tried to insert "Bob" for every time
"God" appears, you'd pretty much replace the whole thing.

Its lyrics (roughly):

God says 'I think you're cute!'
God says 'I like your suit!'
God says 'Rooty-toot-toot!'

I just downloaded and saved Halffaqsnax and it's certainly excellent
antimusic. Personally I HATE antimusic unless I'm playing it, so, I was
wondering if you could recommend any cuts that are more prettier to the
wimpy ear?

I will gladly pass them on to a.b.s. ... I'm behind on my uploading
anyway.

Everybody seems to like "Dechonka." I've had positive responses about
"Aftermath." "Let's Get Violent" has the nice feature of being over
very quickly. "Haunt You, Babe" actually rocks. "Victory in Iraq" and
"Corporate Irony" are each about as sarcastic as one can get without
having lyrics. Some have liked "Balloon Animals," and Scooter has used
"Laughing Targets" in one of his Innerside shows. "The Polarizers" can
be danced to by relatively normal people.

Thank you! (And thanks for this: Of the more than a dozen HoS I've
listened to, not once do I recall you doing what other radio
personalities do: appending "meister" to your name.)
