Night Cabbie is no more! There was a guy from Western Maryland who knew all about
Baltimore and Chespeake Bay Blue Crabs who'd moved to San Francisco and drove
cab at night. About once every three weeks or so, he'd publish a column of tales of odd
fares and night life and street action in the San Francisco Chronicle, but hacking wasn't
paying enough and there evidently wasn't enough coming from the occasional column
in the SF Chron, and too, he'd been studying for his real estate and stockbroker's licenses,
so now there's no more Night Cabbie! It's an important job, and someone needs to do it!
I mean, when someone gets in the cab and says, "Where's the action?" who will be there
to tell them?
