This should become one of a series of amusement park rides, but BIGGER,
like in "The Simpsons."

Children like to play in it, adults enjoy learning from it and senior
citizens at a recent AARP convention had their photo taken beside it.
During National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March, its coming
to M. D. Anderson.

Its the Super Colon, and itll be installed in The Park, Floor 2 of the
Main Building near the Visitors Gallery, for just two days:
Tuesday-Wednesday, March 29-30.

The Super Colon is an inflatable, walk-through reproduction of the human
colon. The 8-foot-tall, 20-foot-long exhibit is traveling the nation to
raise awareness of the importance of colorectal cancer screening. The
Houston engagement is a partnership of M. D. Anderson and the Cancer
Prevention and Research Foundation, Washington, D.C., which produced the
exhibit.

Employees and visitors are encouraged to visit Super Colon to learn more
about colorectal cancer and its prevention in a fun and interactive
setting. Educational brochures and other materials also will be
available.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer killer but is 90% curable
when detected early. Beginning at age 50, all adults are at average or
increased risk. Men and women are equally likely to develop the disease.

Early detection is the best defense against colorectal cancer. Read M.
D. Andersons Screening Guidelines to learn more about colon cancer risk
and prevention. To schedule a colonoscopy at M. D. Anderson, call (713)
794-5073.

They had to put a sign on it so people would not think it was Dick

If this is the colon I'm thinking about, Magdalen posted a bunch of
pics of it last month. Nice shot of her head peeking out through a
colon-hatch. Would have loved one of her husband Jesus stepping
triumphantly out of the colon's rectum as if after 3 days in the cave
tomb.
