"BOB" Damn 800 Numbers

--------
One of the great benefits of being retired is that at last, I have ALL the
time in the world to get on to 800 numbers at the times of day when nobody
should be calling them, for once in my life, gaining customer service
thereby.

Today, I had occasion to call up a local utility about a billing issue.
After navigating a complex navigation tree, I got queued up to a live rep.
Who, naturally was busy. So to keep me unpissed, the robot started telling
me:

"Mondays and Fridays are our busy days, especially at the noon hour. We
suggest you call back at some other time if you wish to obtain prompt
service"

But hey, I was calling on Wednesday at 2:30 PM!!!!

Why have we let so many Pinks scurry about on this planet for so long,
anyhow???

well they're cute when they're little, then when they start getting
bigger and more obnoxious people are too attached to them to gas them.

Not if you are persistent and use a really stout plunger.

Along the same line : telemarketers. They keep calling, someone must be
buying this shit. WHO? Everyone I know hangs up right away, who is
actually listening to these people?

That business practice would diminish greatly if more people would do
as I do: scream into it and make chimp noises. After a few weeks of that
happening caller after caller, I bet it'd be in the news.

I'm of the opinion that it is a myth that people actually buy stuff
from spammers. The trouble is that the companies that hire spammers
believe the myth.

It's hard for me to believe that anybody could be stupid enough to buy
something from a telephone solicitor or spammer, but then it's hard
for me to believe that anybody could be stupid enough to vote to
re-elect Bush, or that they would fall for Nigerian scams.

But they do. A LOT of them.
