BBC World showed the footage leading uo to the incident and then
showed a still shot of the actual execution. If I were that Marine I
would invoke the 'Coup de Grace' or " I was just putting him out of
his misery" defense. If the Abu Grahib defendants can get off and
plea bargain, so should this Marine, who reportedly had been shot in
the face the day before, treated, and sent back to his unit. He got
some.

Sort of reminds me of the now infamous picture from Vietnam
of a South Vietnamese plain clothes policman executing a
Vietcong prisoner. It sort of played a large part in spurring
the anti-war movement.
And is now one of the most memorable Vietnam war era pictures,
along the crying girl running naked down a road and helicoptors
taking off with people clinging to the landing gear.

Only now, nobody cares. Until we get to the pictures of people
clinging to helicopter landing gear as we leave Iraq some years hence.

Maybe, to the stupid and those wanting an excuse to bash
anti-Communist foreign policy.

Were you aware of what the poor, sweet, innocent "victim" who was
shot had done? Are you aware of what the real story was with these
pictures, not what you were told by those who exploited them? And who
(predictably) engaged in anti-war (anti-USA, pro-Communist) agitation
in the West?

rotfl

You forgot to update your rhetoric, the Evil Anti-American Demons who
patriots like you believe in are Terorrists now, not Communists.

Unless you are saying that Saddam Hussein is working for the KGB?

Saddam delegated the responsibility of watching
the KGB to Qusay and his Al-Amn al-Khas (Special
Security) organization. They spent their time
spying on the al-Istikhbarat (Military Intelligence)
spies and the KGB, being just a tad paranoid, and
fearing conspiracy with the Russians.
