Some people I work with tried to vote the other day but the boss wouldn't
excuse them from work so they missed their chance. Their work hours
coincided with the polling hours. I hope some of them have the balls to
make an official complaint.

Some States (Mostly the ones that went Blue) have laws saying employers must
let employees have time off to cast a vote in any State/Federal Election.

Nope. Alabama is a blue state on this map. That may be one reason all that
big industry came down south in the 70's.

And left for China in the 1990's. A Victom of their own idealolgy. "Cheaper
Labor Costs!"

My employer opened a fabrication plant in a large "Enterprize Zone" Established
by the Alabama State & Local Governments to get new busnisses into the area in
those plants abaondoned in the 1990's.

We spent over $6 Million to set up the plant ($1 Million of it becuase our so
called management "saved" money buy buying a used press-brake sight on seen
form a dealer only to find out had been distroyed in an accident and had to
spend more money then iit costs to rrebuilt it)

Once the plant opened, we discovered that despite the clean open and well lit
production floor, mostly new or rebuilt machinary, and well laid out
work flow, the factory still produced less and had higher costs then our plant
in Wilmington, DE that was in an old 100 year old unheated dark. dank shed that
floods every heavy rain, and machine tools that are refugees from a museum.

Seems the "quality" of employees at Alabamn was at "Slack-jaw" level. Most of
our Wilmington Employees are on work realease from the prison across the
Brandywine River from us. and these guys wil out work the "Good ole Boys" in
Alabama any day.

Now just imagine what the Chinese are doing to the Alabama ecomany with their
fixed currency rate & cheap labor.

The only Heavy Industry left in Alabama out side of the remaining USX
operations in Bessimer are Anistion Army Depot, oil related stuff along the
coast, and a BMW plant that the State pays all Utiltiy and built the factory
for them.

I live in a different Alabama than you. You seem to have forgotten the area
around Huntsville.

They just built a Toyota plant that I have a shot at getting a job at. Gods
I hate factory work. I am going to quit my job and slack off one of these
days. If I don't get fired first.
