Today, the 30-odd proud odd users of the subgenius.com email account
system should start seeing a reduction in Spam. These noble 30 are the
winners, whittled down from 150 contenders who mostly did not remember
that they even had subgenius.com as an alternate email address, and
didn't understand when I asked them if they wanted to keep it.
Over the course of the next few months you'll be able to tell who's
REALLY COOOL by who still has their subgenius.com internet address.
I spent about an hour a day during the last two weeks preparing our
customers for this change, prompted by spam-floods. This morning, it
liked to scare the shit out of me because when I first went to collect
my email, I was told repeatedly, "SERVER IS DOWN." Yes, I just about
let Godzilla loose in my britches out of fear and consternation. I
phoned the host co and left a message. Instantly my mail was working
again and did seem to be lighter on the spam. It was also lighter on
