9/11 commission member: Pentagon knows where bin Laden is

Osama bin Laden is living in South Waziristan in the Baluchistan
Mountains of the Baluchistan region of Pakistan, his money is coming
from the United Arab Emirates and high-ranking Saudi ministers, and the
Pentagon is painfully aware of all these facts but is powerless to Go
Get Him.

So says John Lehman, a member of the 9/11 commission.

Even though "there is an American presence in the area," Lehman says "we
can't just send in troops. If we did, we could have another Vietnam, and
the United States cannot afford that right now."

Gee, that couldn't have anything to do with the US military being
stretched a little thin thanks to the Bush administration's Iraqi
misadventures, could it?

I parsed it as "another Iraq."

Right, we already have ONE Vietnam to contend
with, we don't need two.

We at one time had two Vietnams.

But one was so corrupt that it's Army had to overthrough thet government with
US backing. It was incapable of even providng the basic items of Good
Governeace with out someone wanting a kick-back or a bribe.

The other, although ruthless Communits state, was based on Vietnamese
Nationalism and was basicly an extention of a movement that had been going on
since China invaded and conquored Vietman 800 years ago.

Guess which one won.

Lehman was Sec. of the Navy under Reagan and came up with the idea of bring
back the Battle ships.

even though the opearation people made fact that the old Iowa Class ships were
too old, too slow and needed too much fuel (and there fore more tankers to feed
them) when compared to the more modern ships.

After the Cold War was declared over, the Battleships were removed form active
service becuase they were too old, too slow and burn too much fuel.

Yeah, his association with the Reagan Administration damages his
credibility somewhat, but it simultaneously reinforces it as well (the
courage to break ranks and all). I see it as a wash.

Cheaper to run than modern Aircraft Carriers, with nearly the same
prestige factor. And as I recall, those 16" guns were used to some
effect in Lebanon.

Colud you get the same effect with a guided missle DD launching cruise
missle? Tactically, yes; psychologically, probably not.

Fuck psychology, let's BLOW SHIT UP.

Enough blowing up of shit, psychology will fall right in line.

Cruise custom neutron nukes that only kill psychologists but leave
buildings standing.

They'd be like "these missiles reveal a deep-seated hostility in the

That's happening to a lot of the earliest SubG Doktors, too. Love me

Yes, but you guys are still cheaper to operate than modern aircraft
carriers, with nearly the same prestige factor.

I hear those sixteen-inchers were used to some effect in Lebanon, too.

All we need to do is round up all the loudmouthed Bush lovers
and send them over there in a herd. Dump 'em, hand 'em
grenades and guns and let 'em go get Osama.
If they do, fine, if not, fine. We round up more.

Wazshitiland doesn't have oil, neither does Pakistan.
Who cares about THEM, after Osama is dead.

And if it takes 38,562 dead far right Drugs Lumpbrain
fans to get him, so what? We have too many of those
shitheads anyway. Cull the herd.
