Yeah, jhat! I've never seen it freeze-dried
like that batch, but there are about 20,000
Somalis nearby, and my ex-Somali wife (with
the labial circumision) use to chew the stuff.
In fact, the Minister of Defense from the
Somali Embassy here brought by a bundle
of fresh jhat! A good chaw of jhat will jack
you up for about three days! It's like purple
stems with two-inch green spade-shaped leaves.
You chew it and drink shots of super-sweet tea.
It sells for $20-40 a bundle here, depending on
who you know. Smoooooth! like Bolivian pink coke!

That stuff is great!
There's an Affakin merkato here were I've befriended the propritor
and he gets this stuff quite frequently. Though I have nothing to
compare it to, he claims the stuff he gets is about half normal
potentcy...........which is find with me :>)
