--------
Born on the planet Xendu
We were born of MAJOTIS
Knowing this was true
We were the fixed oil signs
Heading for Earth
By Interstellar Conveyance
We arrived early
Performing a key nutritional experiment
While running amok
We consumed meals on the hoof
With dill pipe cleaners
Reaming our nasal passages
REAMING OUR NASAL PASSAGES

from the song "Six" by the Hampton Grease Band
From the album "Music to Eat" (c) 1971
Lyrics by Bruce Hampton, based loosely on things that happened to him in
February 1966

Well I certainly never thought I would see the words "Hampton Grease
Band" together in one place again. Did they do a song called Halifax?

yup - that's them. Most of the lyrics from "Halifax" were taken
straight from a travel brochure,

I never heard them, but I sure would like to. I checked several places
on the internet for mp3 files but couldn't find any.

I was going to suggest listening to the clips on Amazon.com, but the
clips on Amazon give you absolutely no idea what the songs are really
like. In every case, they chose the most sedate 30 seconds of the song
for the clips.

If it is any help, Bruce Hampton went on to form such underground
classics as the Aquarium Rescue Unit, Stained Souls, Fiji Mariners, and
his current project, the Code Talkers. Hampton Grease Band is by far
his most psychedelic (while ARU would be his most musical and virtuostic).
