Not the first book that turned you on, but the first work of actual
wet-and-smack porno you read?

For me - It was a yardsale at my hometown, on my street as I recall. I had
to ask my mom but she let me buy two books. One was a sex education?
marriage manual? kind of thing, and all I remember is that it said whenever
a man argued with a woman, the woman should immediately take off her
clothes.
The PORN was a massive reprint of "The Pearl", an underground Victorian
smut rag. It was a THICK paperback from - Evergreen Press? And boy O boy,
did I read that book to TATTERS! I LOVED it!

So - what was your first?

Oooo. Hard to remember.

It would have to be two books--one a straight pictorial, the other a
kinky men's b&d novel. The dirty pics was entitled "opening things up"
and was your basic gynecological close-up primer. Two friends and I
found it in garbage in a dirt lot.

At that young age, more than anything, it solicited a debate as to
whether women had two holes or three; and considerable amazement
that massive pubic hair could reach from the navel to the tailbone,
concealing a vagina in which you could insert a 2x4 without waking
her up.

The b&d/sadism novel, sans cover, was your basic ex-Nazis torturing
a masochistic girl for no apparent reason other than literary. The
only part that comes to mind was the girl refusing to surrender
before a vicious nipple pinch by a female Nazi.

Hopes this help.

And no, I've no idea if she entered politics.

Read? You mean, like, words?

William Peter Blatty's The Exorcist.

I was 12. Used to read it at lunch in
school. My teacher told my mom, who
asked her "does he read it aloud?".
My teacher admitted I didn't, so my ma,
"Bob" bless her, said "so why the hell
are you bothering me about it?". When
the teacher muttered something about
dangerous influences, my mom pointed
out that we jooz don't have demons and satan,
and that we blame god for everything. That was,
of course, the last I had to hear about it.

Does Joy of Sex count? Oh, wait, my mom gave this manual-type thing
when I was 11 or 12. It was ALL about the male and female bodies and
procreation, etc. I found it extremely exciting...I mean, I didn't
know about guys' builds and it had NEKKID pictures of them! And very
explicit descriptions of sex. I loved it.

Wait! It was actually "The Warren Report".

Really though, I used to beat off to Hustler back in the seventies. Hustler
RULED back then. I was just a young lad of 13, treated to SPREAD-OUT pink
pussies, racist cartoons, and great truestories about sleazy televangelists
like Garner Ted Armstrong, and the blood-soaked origins of the Mormon Church.

Hustler opened my eyes WIDE during those formative years to all of the evil
and filth of this world, with those great pictorials where they'd show a nude
woman next to a pic of a blown-apart war casualty, and asking "Which is the
REAL obscenity?".

To this day, I have a picture framed on my wall that I cut out of Hustler. A
beautiful full-color painting of JFK in semi profile, the skin peeled away
from his right temple, and the bullet hovering in the air just beyond. Anyone
else remember that one? Maybe I'll scan it and post it to ABS.

[snip for JUSTICE!]

Damn, you're asking me to remember
back that far.

I'm going to forego the easy jokes about
"The Wit & Wisdom of Newt Gingrich"
'cuz that's a whole 'nuther type of porn
that *don't* turn me on.

My Dad, while I was growing up, worked
for the County on roadwork. He found
the most *interesting* things that people
threw away. Somewhere along the way,
I discovered his various stashes of mags
& books, and I would sit in the bathroom
the *longest* time scanning the stuff
that he had in his coat pocket, or go out
in the shed and rummage around.
Can't recall much in the way of titles,
beyond something called "The Taming
of Tansy" about some young chick's
sexual adventures with her sister and
her friends. Axtually it wasn't quite
as explicit as some others I came
across later.

I was caught from time to time, and
I was probably less successful at
covering my tracks than I thought.
At any rate, soon the stashes
disappeared, I grew up and moved
away, and I haven't cracked (if
you'll pardon the expression) a
porno book in a *long* time. (What
good is it without pictures?)

I remember once or twice running
across a nude photography magazine
-- you know, the type with the pubic
area airbrushed out? Pretty tame,
and when I think how much those
would be worth on the collectors
market...

Read?

Ooooooohhh.. for the *articles*! I see...

My dad had a stack of Playboys in his night stand. I would sneak into
my parents bedroom and snag one or two to take to my room. I wasn't
even in the first grade yet!

I started pretty young I suppose. Maybe not. It's still my only vice.
Besides money.

I'll never forget when my mom became very angry about me sneaking a
peek at the magazines and threw them out. They sat in a stack in the
garage until trash day. I spent a lot of time out in the garage during
that week.

My first legitimate X-rated movie (hardly counting Flesh Gordon when I
was 10) was Taboo 2. I saw it at a party when I was 15. One of the
classics as it was still part of the era when pornos were still rather
surreal and more about sex than just cum shots on fake tits.

Well, it was about incest too...

Yeah, let's make a clear distinction between PORN and OBSCENITY.

In the Porn Corner, a VERY interesting "educational" picture book
that showed you how to assume positions I couldn't have managed even
when I was 22. I was able to master some of them, but others seemed to
require an alien physiognomy that required the unhitching of the pelvic
girdle and a reversable shoulder socket. Ah, we can always dream.

In the Obscenity Corner, the history book that described
Bergen-Belsen, the firebombing of Dresden and the sacrificing of
Coventry so the Hun wouldn't know the Allies had broken the Enigma
code.

I believe my first book, not skin mag, was a science fiction anthology
called "Again, Dangerous Visions", edited by Harlan Ellison. My
parents actually bought it for me not looking into the stories. I was
a huge reader, and favored SF (go figure a SubG into SF at an early
age, it must be an early warning sign). This book was huge, at least
to me at the time, and the stories were defiantly written for a more
adult market. The other SF book that I remember specificly because
of the sexual content was "Stranger in a Strange Land".

"The Story of O"

I worked nightshift in a porn store for a while,
and had to inventory everything. I'd count the money,
put half in a bag, and a guy would come by at 2 am
to pick it up. Nobody ever came in, maybe a few guys
when the bars closed, and a few guys on their way
to work in the morning. There was all kinda porn,
with a "special room" for very kinky and extra XXXXX stuff.
At that time, that city had a glut of porn shops.
There was an Eastern Star hall upstairs, not that
they have anything to do with the porn biz.

As a teenager I did a lot of babysitting... and I was a bit of a
snoop... among the various Penthouse and Playboy mags I found in one
particular house, I stumbled accross The Story of O and a paddle. Yow!

I read that book everytime I babysat at that house...

Mine was "Sensational Janine". What a waste of time. It was in a
real "adult theater" so it was all cut up and closer to R-ratedness.
The only good part was an outrageously delightful version of "Baby
Elephant Walk" played over the sound system. It went on for about 20
minutes and had a great sax solo. The preview to the movie was also
wonderful -- Lenny Bruce "Mask Man". I know a guy who has a copy of
that on 16mm film. I should get him to dub it off.

HUSTLER RULES!

Probably the FUNNIEST cartoon I saw was in Hustler when I was 11. It was a
Nun, she was squatting over the ground and cross-shaped turds were ploppin

A copy of that book got passed around pretty heavily in my 7th grade

"Prepairing for Adolescence" by some evangelical xtian author had one
graphic page that, at age eight, I read about five times in a row just
to make sure I knew exactly what was going on.

Ironically enough, two days ago I found a 1947 hardback printing of
"Venus in Furs" (english version) at a used bookstore for three dollars.
Stranger still was the fact that I had gone there in search of Henry

Now Icey, y'oughta be nicer to Nickie. Not only is she one of our
own, whatever THAT shuddering horror of an idea represents, but you
wouldn't want to contend with those thighs. She could pants you, grab
your dick between her mighty knees, do a backflip and leave you peein'
through a straw for the rest of your life. She'd probably make you
watch as she cooked it on a hibachi, too.

She rocks, but don't turn your back on her until you've done fealty.
