The one thing it seems you have given no thought to is the actual core of
the church that you rant so adamantly about... There's always the
possibility that it is in fact true that aliens are attempting to undermine
human unity.... I'd say its more likely than choirs of 4-headed 6-winged
monstrosities of virtue.... And as far as their theories that personal
metaphysical awareness in inhuman, who's to say it isn't? To do that would
require an iron-clad definition of humanity, and to my knowledge no one has
come forth with that as of yet. P'raps that's the church's token leap of
faith that it, as a church mind you, requires its members to make: That
humanity is limited by physical awareness. Who's to say where the monkeys
end and we begin? What truly separates monkeys from us? Is it their lack of
insight into their own existence or their physical inability to, say, make
guacamole and wear condoms and talk idlely about the X-files? Not necesarily
all at the same time.... They may be able to make guacamole.... They do have
opposable thumbs.... Maybe they could make guacamole with their feet.... Bet
it wouldn't taste too good though.
