From the comments about Magdalen's case on FARK.com:
==================================================
The problem with gatherings, communities, and social groups such as this is
the same problem that plagues any gathering/community/group/organization of
any significant size, that being that eventually word gets out that there's
a "party."

So, while there may be a terrific "free-thinking" origin... it's typically
subverted by the masses and converted to just another cliquish doctrinnaire
group of idealogues.

So, just as the 'judgemental but not really pious' often seize the reigns
of religious groups and use them to simply outgroup others... The same
thing happens... non-"free/creative-thinkers" and all-around unremarkable
choads simply see an opportunity to maybe get laid and sit around playing
what amounts to nothing but a flipped version of "us vs. them."

It doesn't matter how unusual they are... a uniform is still a uniform,
dogma is still dogma, judgement is still judgement...and thus "free-
thinking" often isn't.
==================================================

Well, damned if this guy didn't peg it square.

I take your point, but what has that got to do the Magdalen child-
stealing case?

Is someone from X-Day accused of "denouncing" Mags?

And does this mean I'm still NOT going to get laid?

Nothing really, it's just an excerpt from the comments that I felt captured
the spirit of Brushwood XDay. That's why I titled the thread "XDAY in a
nutshell" instead of "One more post about Mag's kid".

Thanks for not being "judgemental but not really pious" and proving
them right.

It doesn't even prove them right because he wasn't there!
