If you see thousands of pieces of saucer entering the atmosphere and burning
up, they were intercepted by the abort signal and self-destructed the
artificially constructed 3-D fleet (which they themseles have no use of). Due
to the parking orbit they were in, those pieces should arrive in about 16
months.
This will tell you *what* happened. Why it may have been done is not yet
known.
