Dear Mr. Tartikoff,

I am writing this letter in order to convince you to

keep "The Facts of Life" on. The show has consistently won

its time period for three years on Saturday night. How can

you cancel a show that is winning it's time period

consistently? That's like cancelling "The Cosby Show" or

"Valerie's Family". Sure it has been on for nine seasons,

but why should that make a difference. "Gunsmoke" was on

for twenty seasons even though it was going to be canceled

after ten. "The Ozzie and Harriet Show" was on for 14

seasons and the "Jefferson" were on for 12 seasons.

If you are not going to put on either of the two

spin-offs from "The Facts of Life" and you are not going to

put "The Facts of Life" back on for another season you

should at least let it go off the air in style. You should

let "The Facts of Life" do a two hour movie in which all

four girls go their separate ways. This would end the show

the way it began with class and it would enable the true

followers of "The Facts of Life" to see the lives of the

Nat, Tootie, Blair, and Jo together end the way it should be

and not with the season finale of this year.

Sincerely,
