Caught two excellent videos over the weekend. The first was "Shocking
Asia" a shlocumentary from Germany television. Prime footage of
stomach-churning action including people who drive spikes through
their tongues, corpses being picked apart by vultures, and an
on-screen sex-change operation.

Late-night public television (a ghetto I'm proud to call home) brought
a showing of "Der Lauf and Der Dinge" by Peter Fischli and David
Weiss. This is a thirty plus something minutes video of a Rube
Goldberg-style machine, which rolls, steams, explodes and burns its way
across a warehouse. A post-modern techno-dominoes.
