There's something in the air today. I don't know what yet, but I'm
noticing clues:
1) While driving to work, I was approaching the Mass Ave bridge from the
Boston side. A police car, lights flashing, came over the bridge,
followed by a long black limosine flying a Korean flag, followed by an
unmarked, black, jeep-like thing, also flashing police blues. They were
stopped at the corner after the bridge, waiting to turn right. A guy in
a t-shirt came out of a street-side building, waved to the driver of the
limo, opened the rear door, climbed in, and the motorcade drove off.
2) I came out of a health-food store. A guy in a rumpled black suit,
white shirt, black sun-glasses, and very shiny black shoes, came up
suddenly from behind me. He answered a squawky from his walky-talky,
jumped in a black limo, and roared out of the parking lot.
It's the clearest, calmest, mildest, driest, blue-sky-est day we've had
in years. Everything feels weightless somehow, and there's a lot of odd
stuff floating around out there, waiting for something to land on. Keep
an eye out for black limos.
