yes, the universal life church is at least as serious about religion as
the subgenii. my sister was married by (not to) a universal life church
minister. it was kind of a performance art wedding. the minister went
into this big overly long simile about how marriage was like tying a
knot, and since the wedding was in a nautical theme, he then took 10
minutes showing us all how to tie knots -- "the rabbit goes in the hole
then comes out the loop and back into the hole", he sermonized and
lulled us into a marvelous complacency. It was groovy. My parents even
liked it, though they would've preferred a Rabbi to a weirdo dressed as
a ship's captain.

PS: Sarah Kiesler of CMU gave a talk yesterday and said something to the
order of "Corporations need slack to generate a research budget." Think
about it, maaaaaan.....
