there's a new construction in dowmtown mpls - they're working on it even as
we speak. its the Lutherans, again. they're paying for it, they're having
it built. yesterday, after months of drought, a tornado came through! the
storm must have dropped all of an inch of rain! there was general panic! I
was walking along a downtown sidewalk when it hit. my memory of the time is
choppy, but I know that i was on my way to a friend's place to return an
device and some chemicals that had been left at my house after this friend
had done some car refinishing. the sky went black. i paniced! i found
shelter, but some uncontrolable force moved me to climb up, up and up! I
was in a place where the earth met the sky, and there was a terrific wind.
Then, i remember the sound. like cats and cobras in a bravado standoff. a
big hissing sound that was only barely masked but the rushing wind. then, i
saw Him! it was "Bob"! his face seemed to loom up out of nowhere, 10 feet
high, it seemed, and suspended in space! i remember then, i felt that "Bob"
was telling me to "git my ass out'da storm" and "git ta da Crib"! I know
that i walked casually from my place of shelter, that i was back on the
street in the rain. but then, i looked back. i looked up, and there He was!
He called down to me, repeating his earlier message. his face seemed to
fill a mammoth window in some half built building. it was then that i
remembered i had parked my car just down the street! was it there all
along? then, it struck me - where was i going? who do i know who was
refinishing a car at my house? nobody, thats who! it all came togather! it
was all arranged! i was ment to see "Bob"! happy, i rushed home. and you
know what? all the windows were closed!
