One afternoon, after several days of nonstop hacking on the TECO sources
and listening to Beethoven's Ninth, I decided that I was Dave Moon (the
man in rm 926 being merely a false hacker, or anti-Moon) and attempted
to modify the KL-10's microcode while the system was in use. I had to
be forcibly restrained by HIC and GSB, who tied me up with chaosnet
cable until I could be deprogrammed by the forcible application of Hu Kwa.
I had been reading MC:HUMOR;BRAIN DAMAGE.

In my experience the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram is a
very effective defense against the newage movement. When I'm sitting
in my bedroom in the center of the space defended by the pentagrams
and archangels at all four quadrants, I feel quite safe from the
newage movement, and, so far, no representatives of that movement have
broken the circle while it was in place.
What defenses do you use?
