FACT SHEET ON THE SCHILLER INSTITUTE ____________________________________
The Schiller Institute was formed, as a think tank and
educational organization, during the summer of 1984 to actively
promote the strengthening of the ties between the United States
and Western Europe, based on the shared principles of economic and
political justice that were central to the founding of the United
States as a Republic over two hundred years ago.
Founded by Mrs. Helga Zepp-LaRouche, the Institute was seen
as crucial to combatting the ever-increasing efforts of the
Anglo-American Establishment to split the United States from
Western Europe, and especially Germany. Named after the celebrated
classical German Poet of Freedom, Friederich Schiller, the
Institute has also taken up the tasks of fighting for greater
economic justice in the developing sector nations -- against
institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund, that
promote Malthusian goals.
The Schiller Institute has also been striving to revive the
classical culture of Judeo-Christian civilization. This has
included our now internationally famous campaign to lower the
standard pitch for classical music orchestras to C=256, so that
great music can once again be played and heard as the composers
wrote it.
The Schiller Institute has more than twenty fraternal
organizations around the world, including all across Western
Europe and the nations of Ibero-America. In addition, groups of
sympathizers are actively involved in different projects in Asia
and some nations of Africa.
The Chairman of the Schiller Institute, Inc. is Helga
Zepp-LaRouche, also Chairman of the Patriots for Germany in the
FRG. The Board of Directors includes:
Dr. Frederick Wills, former Foreign Affairs and Justice
Minister of Guyana
John Weber, Benefactor, Hebrew Union College, in Israel and
the United States
Dr. Robert Moon, Professor Emeritus, Physics Department,
University of Chicago
Dr. Winston Bostick, Professor Emeritus, Stevens Institute of
Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey
