The Russkies are just trying to catch up with us in the Absurd Race, the
latest race between east and west. Seems they have to catch up on the
production of absurdist news in order to obtain absurdist parity with the
west. Soon, we will see the flowering of a thousands points of absurdist
newsrags in Russia, just like here, including Weekly World Izvestia and
Plain Pravda. If you check out many of our own such rags, you will find
that the sources of many articles of extreme absurdist proportions are
credited to the work of "Soviet scientists" (who remain anonymous). I
would suppose that Russia now sees this vital critical export as an
important part of its own absurdoeconomic growth and seeks to exploit the
vast untapped wealth of Russian absurdity for its own purposes.
