After reading Eric Haines' message about the United Space
Federation, I sent in my SASE for their info. Today I received the stuff
($.20 postage due--you may want to put $.45 on your SASE to them).
In addition to the loyalty oath and welcoming letter
Eric quoted, I got the following personal note from Rick Dobson himself:
Dear Jim
I am glad that someone in Phoenix, AZ has herd of my quest!
Many people and organizations from around the world have been
sending me letters in support of the United Space Federation.
Human Kind is now faced with many global challenges, space the
new fronteer offers many promising solutions and answers to those
problems. If human kind is not to become exstinct like the
dinosours on your stamps, we must prepair our future with antisapation
of much change of the world that supports us, and the ever changing
universe around us. Just recently an asteroide of emense size nearly
missed stricking the earth. If this had happend what would be our
fate!, and would we have been prepaired to adapt to the effects it
would have caused. That is why human kind must exspand its knowledge
of the universe around us; not that we as micro cosoms in the universe
will have the Power to change forces beyaund our controle, but simply
have the insight and knowledge to prepair our Future generations for
these changes. So that they may carry the wounder of life outward to
the stars that are our past and our future! Thank you for your support
and intrest in my quest for the stars. Tell others of this quest
so that it may be realized and passed on to those who follow us,
and to those who follow them!

re 5093, OK Pat, you asked for it. I have always found it rather
interesting that Santa wears a red suit and his name can be changed to
Satan by only moving the "n" to the end of the name. Sound silly? I
find it interesting anyway. Also, alot of Christians have a "Santa
Claus" mentality about God. Further, there is a scripture in one of
the prophets which, at least in the KJV, sure seems to be talking about
how the nations take a tree from the forest and decorate it.... It says
that such customs are not to be practiced by God's people. What do you
think about that? I think too, the focus on the baby in the manger
tends to make us ignore the more important fact of Jesus' death &
resurrection & return. More later. Larry.

re 5093 The scripture I was referring to is Jeremiah 10:3, although
recent translations make it sound slightly different. Anyway, does
anyone know where the tradition of St. Nick started? I find it
interesting that the Bible states in Revelation that God hates the deeds
of the "Nicolaitans". Just coincidence? I dont think anyone has ever
realy given a good explaination of just who the "Nicolaitans" are,
though I've heard some speculation. I don't think parents should tell
kids that "Santa" is real. When they catch you lying to them, how will
they know you arent also lying about Jesus? We do not have a Christmas
tree. We have had a Christmas Cross though. I think it is far more
appropriate. Paul said (I Cor 2:2) "For I determined not to know any
thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." It is not by
Jesus birth that we have salvation, but, by our re-birth through the
cross of Jesus. As Christians we should be a separate breed, not led
away by the customs and practices of those who do not know God. Larry.
P.S. Why is it so radical to not have a Christmas tree?

re 5093 contd. There is alot of pressure to conform to this world.
But, the Bible says "be not conformed to this world, but, be transformed
by the renewing of your mind." Today I had to explain to my 8 yr old
why we do not have a tree, or lights, etc. Its hard to do when most
other Christians are caught up in all the traditions which ignore the
true meaning of Christ-mas. What does the "mas" mean anyway? I think
we should put more focus on the Cross than the manger. Larry.
(I guess I'm realy asking for it to say all this!)
