Going Too Far
Geraldo Rivera's name has long been synonymous with sleaze "reality"
programming. Now it looks like, at least in the Dallas area where Geraldo's
show airs in the afternoon, Geraldo may finally have gone too far. Ten
thousand Dallas-area viewers signed a petition asking the station to get the
show out of after-school hours. Geraldo, who was forced to assure affiliates
he would soft-pedal the sex for a while, told "Advertising Age", "Maybe I had
too much heat and not enough light. In retrospect we didn't need 10 of 20
shows with sexual themes. We could have been more democratic." But, he said,
it was going to be hard to create a more balanced show: "To righteously or
justifiably tell a whole panoply of experience without overemphasis on teen
prostitutes and transsexual lesbians is not easy." But test the light/heat
index for yourself. The panoply of "Geraldo" topics that follows was sampled
by "Ad Age" from the most recent period of ratings sweeps.

YOU ARE IN DEBT TO GOD.
Dear Soul, YOU are in debt to God because you have sinned against Him.
The Bible says "As it is written, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE:"
Romans 3:10. The reason for this, the Bible says, "For ALL HAVE SINNED,
and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23. YOUR DEBT to God must
be paid.
ONLY DEATH CAN PAY YOUR DEBT.
The Bible says, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,
and DEATH BY SIN; and so DEATH passed upon all men, for that all have
sinned:" Romans 5:12. The Bible also says, "For the WAGES of sin is
DEATH;" Romans 6.23a. Therefore because of your sin, you must recieve
the wages, or payment due for it, which is DEATH. [logical so far, but
are the premises correct?] But this death is more than just physical
death. You will be paying the debt for sin all through eternity! The
Bible says, "And DEATH and hell were cast into the LAKE OF FIRE. This is
the SECOND DEATH." Revelation 20:14. So once you die, the payment has
only just started! You will burn forever, as never ending payment for
YOUR DEBT of sin.
SOMEONE HAS ALREADY PAID YOUR DEBT.
Yes, Dear Soul, thank the Living God for His love for you, that HE has
paid YOUR DEBT! [I wish someone would tell that to the bursar's office]
The Bible says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while
we were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US." Romans 5:8. It was YOUR DEBT.
YOU were responsible for its payment. But JESUS CHRIST dies on the cross
and shed HIS BLOOD to pay for YOUR DEBT of sin! The Bible says, "In whom
we have redemption THROUGH HIS BLOOD, even the forgiveness of sins:"
Colossians 1:14. Out of His pure love and mercy JESUS PAID IT ALL! Just
before HE dies He said so. "IT IS FINISHED: and he bowed his head, and
have up the ghost." John 19:30b.
But Jesus Christ didn't stay dead! He arose, proving He was God, and
that HIS PAYMENT for YOUR DEBT of sin, was GOOD FOR ALL OF ETERNITY! The
bible says, Wherefore HE is able also to save them TO THE UTTERNOST that
come unto God by him, seeing HE EVER LIVETH to make intercession for
them." Hebrews 7:25.
BUT "YOU MUST CLAIM" THE PAID DEBT FOR YOURSELF.
Jesus Christ died to pay the DEBT OF SIN for everyone, but not everyone
has claimed the payment. Have YOU? You claim HIS PAYMENT for YOUR DEBT
by faith. Faith is COMPLETE trust in someone. In order to be saved from
having to pay your own debt, by burning forever in the lake of fire, you
must "completely" trust Jesus Christ and the payment HE MADE on the
cross. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave HIS
ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish,
but have EVERLASTING LIFE." John 3:16. If you believe with all your
heart that Jesus Christ paid your YOUR DEBT OF SIN, and can by Himself,
get you to heaven, what you need to do is ask Jesus Christ to save you.
The Bible sys, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL
BE SAVED." Romans 10:13.
THE DECISION IS YOURS! YOUR ETERNITY DEPENDS ON IT!
