Subj: Beware of the Pig

AP 01/30 14:28 EST

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- A 410-pound pet pig got loose on Tampa Bay's
busiest bridge and hog-tied traffic for nearly two hours while its owners and
police scrambled to catch it.
"Somebody ought to run it over and throw it into the water," said Marge
Conover, whose car stalled four times on the Howard Frankland Bridge during the
long wait Tuesday.
The pig, named Goober, jumped from his owners' covered pickup and hogged the
eastbound lanes of the bridge between St. Petersburg and Tampa.
Rex and Lyz Nowling of Largo were taking 1-year-old Goober to an animal
retirement home in Waldo because he's outgrown his home.
"He's pretty well trained," said Mrs. Nowling, who raised Goober from a
piglet. "But pigs do have minds of their own. I guess he just wanted out."
"I screamed and yelled, 'Don't hit my pig! Don't hit my pig!' "
Goober was finally tranquilized by a veterinarian to continue his trip to
Waldo.
The animal retirement home, near Gainesville, takes in all sorts of animals,
including circus elephants and lions.

I thought this board was created so that people
could delight in entangling themselves with false
slack. Hath I erred?

So be careful, for Bob's sake, lest you fall into
a sar-chasm...

Endless slack,
ChristianM
