This letter was sent to Douglas Hofstadter (of "Godel, Escher, Bach"
et al. fame):

Best Wishes for Holiday
Seasons and Happy and
Prosperous New Year

On October 32rd, 1990, the 100th anniversary day of
Telecommunication Service in Japan, I got a letter of appreciation of
my services for 30 years from NTT.

The president of NTT encouraged me and other awardees for
further progressive services.

Also in 1990, I got acquainted with a Japanese Christian, who
said that Religion is a communication protocol to God.

And he also said as an electrical communication engineer, he
would prefer Monotheism i.e. single protocol to Polytheism i.e. many
protocols.

I, a Buddhist, thought that the Nature of Human Beings would
not allow Monotheism; because there are four kinds even in the
simplest ABO blood-type classification.

So, I suppose that preparation of a switching system among
many communication protocols to Allah, Buddha, Christ, God, Heaven,
Jehovah, Lord and so on would be the hereafter task for switching
engineers.

[... here comes a big table, dividing human beliefs in four
types, modelled after the blood types. This is the first and last two
columns:

Symbol Religion/Philosophy Founder/Philosopher
-----------------------------------------------------------
O Christianity, Judaism, Jesus Christ, Yoshida Showin,
Maoism, Marxism, Mao Tse-tung, Karl Marx,
Mohammedism Mohammed

A Catholiscism, Abraham Lincoln, Confucius,
Confucianism, Japanese Socrates, Natsume Soseki,
Buddhism, Nihonism, Fukuzawa Yukichi
Shintoism

B Buddhism, Zen Sakyamuni, Rene Descartes

AB Taoism, Nihilism Lao-Tse, Nietzsche,
Bertrand Russel

Then a list of references (The Gospel, "Le Discours de la
methode", Sakyamuni, Confucius, Lao-Tse, "Godel, Escher, Bach", "Also
sprach Zarathustra", and the Gettysburg Address) ...]

It is reasonable to consider that how one's brain works
depends on one's blood type, because each blood type has its own
molecular structure.

It should be recognized that these four types of belief make
an orthogonal system. Proposals of the fifth and sixth type of belief
which will be necessary to construct a complete orthogonal system are
welcome. Genetically speaking, "A" should be divided into "OA" and
"AA", and "B" should be divided into "OB" and "BB". Each blood type
seems to have its own type of sensor to sense external informations.

I myself think my belief vector (O,A,B,AB)=(1.2,0.8,1.0,0.7),
but people around me seem to sense it as (1.0,0.01,10.0,0.1). What is
your opinion? I think it is very important for communication between
people.

Ol' Tony was even more amusing. At one point he had been a (wanna be) record
promoter in Nashville, where he hooked up with his lovely wife Susan, a country
crooner with funny teeth, big hair, and apparantly not much talent. Somewhere
about the time that times got tough Tony had a call from the Lord to quit his
sinful life and save the masses. Shortly thereafter Susan had a phone call
from God too.
But, alas, Susan died some years ago. (Cancer, I think, or maybe an excess of
mendacity...) But Tony was not to be daunted. He KNEW that Susan would be
resurrected by the Lord to continue their mission. So he stuck her in a glass
coffin and lugged her around for some years, contrary to most state laws and to
the irritation of many public health officials. He always said some day he was
going to raise her up, but somehow never got around to it. Don't know what
happened to her when he got nailed.

Just announced -- or I just now read about it -- August 28th at the
Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, the Northwest Revulval (a slack feeling
envelopes the room). This was the same place that hosted Jimmy the
Geek and friends last month.

If anyone knows who I should contact in this area so I can help
and/or participate, puhleez let me know.

"Johnny would not let them in the house because he could not
stand Nancy, so Sid kicked the door down. One of John's
friends, Paul Young, attacked Sid and split his head with an
axe. Doctors said he was lucky to be alive and I am
convinced it was head wound as much as the drugs Nancy gave
him that sent him crazy. I do not believe he killed her."
