The Avon, Colorado, Town Council voted 4-2 last week to name its newest
bridge Bob. The name, which beat out finalists Avon Crossing and Del
Mayne Crossing, was one of 84 submitted in a name-the-bridge contest.
"We responded to the citizens who thought it would be fun to call the
bridge Bob," says Councilman Charlie Gersbach. Bob spans the Eagle
River, linking Interstate 70 and U.S. 6.
