I guess because I once said something less than entirely generous
about the John Birch Society on USENET someone from that organization
has "adopted" me and sends me personal letters written on a dot-matrix
printer along with JBS pubs he thinks I really should be studying.
Well, I do study them. What choice do I have? The utter guilt of just
knowing that this guy spent 29 cents on me and that I'd throw the
stuff away would no doubt drive me insane in no time. So I read every
damn word, 29c or otherwise.
The latest batch includes the entire explanation of what has
transpired in Russia (USSR? whatever you call it, Upper Slobovia as Al
Capp used to tastefully say) over the last coupla years up to the
present roughly.
According to the JBS, and I know they wouldn't make this stuff up,
nothing happened in the USSR!
Well, nothing important, they're still all commies just like always.
Only now we (the USA) are commies too, sucked into the Great
Conspiracy (tm). See, we're so deep into it and the USA has become
such a Socialist State (tm) that we just can't tell that nothing has
happened in the USSR. We just all woke up one morning, looked over the
iron curtain and said "hey, they're just like us!", so having lost any
figure-ground gestalt to distinguish us from them (other than perhaps
the price of a bag of oranges in Red Square) we threw our arms around
them rooskies and declared peace and friendship and now we're all
sunk, the Great Conspiracy (tm, or did I say that already?) has got
us both.
Like I said, would I make this stuff up?
They also have photos in the article of FDR, Eisenhower, LBJ and Nixon
(just in case you don't recognize them by name) labelled as chief
soviet conspirators in the great...you know. And George Bush is not
in that rogue's gallery but the text makes it quite clear that he is
the capo di capi of the GC (void where prohibited by law.)
I'm sure glad they cleared that all up for us.

I've heard Steinberg do that spiel on LNwDL, so it's as much an indication
that he's hurting for fresh material.
Biting the heads off of Barbie dolls is a new one on me, but someplace I heard
of another practice involving Barbie dolls which somehow sounds more popular.
A more precise specification is left as an exercise to the reader.
