Here's a brief item from the Associated Press...
LINDEN, N.J.
A man's upset stomach caused a scare for environmental
officials worried about a radioactive element he swallowed to treat a
thyroid problem.
An unidentified male patient at Rahway Hospital had taken
Iodine-131 on Wednesday and later vomited on the street.
The hospital contacted the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the
state Department of Environmental Protection and Energy, local
authorities and emergency management officials.
A reading of the area showed a safe level of radiation, said
Robert White, the hospital's radiology administrator and safety
officer.
White said officials worried that a child could eat an undigested
pill, which would not be fatal but is potent. The pill is the only one
used in the thyroid treatment.
Officials scraped about an inch thick section of soil around the
partially digested pill as a precaution. They took it to the hospital's
radioactive storage section for disposal.

Subject: virus conspiracy?!?
-------
For those of you who missed McNeil-Lehrer last night, may Bob have
pity on you. The veil of conspiracy was torn asunder, though
the amazing Mr. Lehrer managed to sew it up good as new. One of
the guests--I believe his name was "Rash"--commented that the
Michelangelo virus, along with many of the other viruses, may be
the work of those Software Professionals (smirk) who write anti-
virus software. One of said SofPro's, McAfee, was present and
totally unamused by the accusation. In response to Lehrer's
quickly-offered chance to rebuff the charge, he characterized it
as "preposterous" or some like adjective.
Missed it by _that_ much....
Rex
