Not that anyone would want to, but has it occurred to anyone that you can
make a fairly strong correspondence between the four elements and the
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? (although more the comic versions than
the watered-down TV ones)
Leonardo, the leader, the one they all rely on: Earth
Raphael, the hot-tempered one: Fire
Donetello, the techie, intellectual: Air
Michelangelo, the surfer: Water (well, this is reaching a bit)
Furthermore, Donetello wields a staff, which at least some traditions
associate with air, and those short, sharp things that Raphael uses
are as close to an athame as any of them have.
Plus, of course, Raphael is also the name of one of the Archangels,
and Michael and Michelangelo share a common nickname, although the
attributions don't really work here.
COINCIDENCE, OR CONSPIRACY? Well, probably coincidence, actually.
