Political Gong Show [guy pictured with gong] - Move over Jerry Brown, here
comes Da Vid

By Dan Fost, Gannett News Service

Mill Valley, Calif. - As a candidate for president, Da Vid would run in a
dimension far beyond even California's own Jerry Brown.

A non-practicing holistic physician who has proclaimed himself the "New Age
President," Da Vid - pronounced "Dah Veed" - says he would like people to write
him in for president of the United States, if they feel like it.

[...]

Da Vid says he was born in New York 44 years ago as Dolph Ornstein, earned a
medical degree in Scotland and has lived in California for 18 years. He gives
this information reluctantly. Asked his age, for instance, he says, "I don't
think of myself in terms of age, because I don't believe in time."

Asked his name, he says, "Da Vid is who I am." [...]

About his place of origin, Da Vid says, "What's the human body made of? Atoms
and electrons. And where are atoms and electrons from? The sun. You ask
where I'm from, I'm from the sun."

[...]

Two hooks on the ceiling hold a contraption that enables him to hang upside
down. Occasional fasting helps Da Vid feel light.

He drinks a green beverage made from chlorophyll and vitamin C.

[...]

The six-point plan, with quotes from Da Vid's literature:

[...health, tax reform, peace conversion, renewable energy, and...]

- Artainment: A 24-hour music-video network will "inspire, delight, heal and
enlighten."

- Global peace center: Transform Alcatraz Island, a former hard-core federal
prison in San Francisco Bay, into "a solar temple" with botanical gardens, a
health spa, an international restaurant, a conference center and dance and
movement space - housed in pyramids and geodesic domes.

Even though Da Vid boasts he is the artist who created Artainment - which he
always denotes with the trademark symbol - he does not claim sole credit for
its invention. "This represents the amount of man-hours it took to create
computers, television, music, and technology," he says.

He'll be taking Artainment on the road, first to New York City on May 31, then
to a major event in Memphis in June. "We're going big time."

To reach Da Vid, write to the Human Ecology Party, 20 Sunnyside Ave., Suite
A-156, Mill Valley, Calif., 94941.

yah, yah, I know; I have a ton of matchbooks from them.

But just wait until someone YOU know is buried there so
that you get to revel in seeing a bowling plaque in the
smoking waiting room.
