Is this Gene guy the old sailor guy with the white beard who smokes the pipe
and always has the camera shot in extreme close up of his face and he takes
ten minutes to finish a sentence? I heard something about how he's got a
broadcast somewhere in Texas that's 24-hours a day.

Let me guess, was the song "I wanna know"? That wasn't a
live group, it was on tape. It had me fooled at first too,
since the tape includes not only the group singing, but also
*setting up*, waiting for cues, etc. Damn clever of Scott,
or just lucky. I once called up their toll-free number
and asked them to play "I Wanna Know" again...even though
there was no TV in the room and I had no idea what was going
on on the show. "Don't worry, he'll get back to it again!"
was the operator's response. Damn that's slackful, it's
almost Zen: eventually, my son, soon, they'll play
the song again.

Hi... will you please add me to your mailing list?
Also, have you kept a copy of all the News-Of-The-Weird sent to you by
Chuck Shepherd? I love the column, but he hasn't got the time to mail me
the back issues... perhaps there's an FTP site? =)

The White Housis accepting E-mail addressed to the president at CLINTON PZ

that E-mail messages carry a clear description in the Subject field and a
street address, since responses are sent by regular mail. America Online has
established an area called From the White House (in the News and Finance
area under Departments) that includes complete transcripts of the
president's speeches, public meetings, and press conferences.
