Here's a tasty little tidbit I culled from yesterday's paper as I sat
smoking a Camel and eyein' the babes in the student lounge today;
From The Missoulian, May 24th, 1993--
'Just OK' town decks out for Bobfest honoring bridge.
AVON, Colo.(AP)-The snow is melting and the skiers are gone and
everyone's atention is turning once again to Bob.
Each spring in Avon, there's a Bobfest in Bob's honor. This year
there's hope that another Bob will show up.
Bob isn't a person, it's a bridge. Supporters say the name -
picked in a contest to name the new bridge in 1991 - reflects the town's
ethos of "ultimate OK-ness."
The four-lane span crossing the Eagle River and connecting
Interstate 70 with U.S. Highway 6 doesn't have a nameplate. Officially, it
is known as F10AG.
Bobfest is being held the weekend of May 29-30 in Avon, a ski
country town 70 miles west of Denver.
Last year's fest attracted 3,000 Bobs, Wannabobs, Married to a
Bobs, Know a Bobs and I Wish I Was a Bobs, said Carol Frangos, spokeswoman
for the Vail Valley Marketing Board.
The town is hoping entertainer Bob Hope will stop by this year's
event to wish his namesake a happy second birthday, while he accepts best
wishes for his 90th birthday.
Among the attractions this year are: Bob's Petting Zoo, featuring
the Bobby Llama; The Bob-B-Que, a western street dance; and Bob, Bob
Bobbing Along, a white-water raft trip that is free to "Bobs."
"It all kicks off the Vail Valley summer season and, while it's
not the best 'just OK' place to be this weekend," said Bobfest creator Tom
"Call Me Bob" Britz.
Hmmm... perhaps SubGenius HQ should be moved to Colorado. Nah, that'd take
work.

Well your mail did get here but it's one monster of a return address - I hope
it makes the return. Tooke me a while just to find out for sure that it was
from you. Sorry I missed you this past weekend in Houston. I was so busy
getting around to see all of my family that I now need a vacation from my
vacation (typical). Based on the info you sent me Internet sounds like an
interesting network - although I imagine that was just a small taste. I got
in Thursday night and would have tried to reach you at work but didn't have
that number. You might E-Mail me your new address/phone when you receive this
so i will have it for future use.
I glad to hear that your new job is going well - it sounds much more in line
with what I recall of your personality and ultimate professional goals (When
compared to Sysco).
Jeff
