following letter from the "Belfast News Letter" newspaper of 20th July
1993:
ROCK OF AGES NEVER LIES
In all the kerfuffle over the latest Hollywood epic, Jurassic Park, I
have not noticed that anyone has made mention of this cogent fact.
The theme of the film is anti-Christian and anti-Biblical. It is also
unscientific.
The Jurassic Age did not exist 160 million years ago. This is only an
opinion propagated by the philosophers of the school of
evolutionary-uniformitarianism.
These apostates from the Biblical revelation and history produce not
one shred of scientific evidence in support of their ideological
assumptions. They extrapolate - make great leaps of faith - from one
false base to another.
The so-called prehistoric monsters actually existed on the Earth at the
same time as early man.
In the United States there are records laid out in the rocks to show
that man and great beasts walked along the same track together.
The tracks are covered up with sedimentary rock formation, but by
estimating the length of the man's strides, the investigators were able
to dig up exactly where he placed his feet under the rocks, and to
unvover his footprints, as well as the beast he was probably tracking.
If you read the Book of Job, you will see his description of a great
beast, probably tyrannosaurus rex, which he calls "leviathan" (read Job
41 for an eye-witness view of T Rex).
Incidentally, the flames coming out of leviathan's mouth might have
been the gaseous effects of consuming plants, which flamed when they
were mixed up.
The world of the great dinosaurs perished under the waters of the great
flood of Genesis. The record of the rocks shows us that great masses
of sedimentary rock formations lie thousands of feet up on mountain
sides.
This kind of rock is laid only by the action of water, gigantic waves
casting immense quantities of sediment before them, to bury animal life
under great thickness of sediment.
This was compacted by the great weight of the water on top.
Look at any sedimentary rock formation. You will see it is laid out in
layers.
The Genesis Flood was tidal, with gigantic waves sweeping across the
surface of the Earth twice - and maybe more times per day.
The evidence of the rocks lends support to this theory we Christians
call Scientific Creationism.
Jurassic Park is an assault upon the Christian religion because it
falsifies the record of our origins. It is atheism that is lent
support by Hollywood.
The movie's theme should be exposed on that account.
