Studies have shown that Christian Heavy Metal is a fine example of "lyric
reuse" ... given a large base of existing traditional heavy metal, it
makes for very productive lyric writing to reuse traditional heavy metal
lyrics by replacing various static parameters with the appropriate objects
for the domain of Christianity. The most typical parametrization is the
replacement of "satan" with "god" or "jesus". Realistic-seeming white metal
lyrics have also been created by replacing "bad" with "good", "fuckshit"
with "bless" and so on. The analogy to lyric reuse in software is obviously
software reuse. The combination of advanced research in the study of
generative linuistics and parameterized programming has created quite a
rush in the rock and roll industry, since everybody is obviously looking
for a fast sleazy buck at the expense of a lasting contribution to the arts.

The simplest way to create a lyric is by simple parametrization
of a linguistic function called a DEFLYRIC. For example the form

DEFLYRIC (<songname>, <deityname>, <supernaturalpowersource>,
<crueltyaction>, <bimboname>, <stupidityaction>)

will produce a reasonable subset of all BLACK or WHITE heavy metal lyrics by
instatiating the 5 linguistic parameters with references in the domain of
good or evil. The conversations of D&D players can be simulated by
parametrizing over the domains of chaotic-good, chaotic-evil, etc.

Next time, we will discuss the use of object-oriented automated lyric
creation, focussing on the use of multiple inheritance to create the
illusion of changing entire systems of belief by replacing a few simple
semantic kernels in the superclass while leaving the overall object
structure the same.

A few years ago, I saw part of a promotional film for the Church of the
Subgenius which was shown on television. Could anyone point me in the
direction towards obtaining a copy of this??

Thanks.

Try reaching in the toilet bowl after excrameditation: You can find neat
stuff there sometimes.

Then again, maybe you'll just end up with stinky hands. It depends.
