Thanks for the MCI Slack Line. Doesn't the sound of children
playing on selection 8 sound like they are getting gunned down by a mad
postal worker rather than frolicking by the sea side? I dunno, but it sounds
like nuclear warfare to me.

MCI has completely lost it.
Call this number: 800-969-4874
[give it a go; no, it's not a phone sex number, it's just inexplicable]
That is weird. But it isn't inexplicable. MCI is certainly compiling a
list of all the phone numbers of people who call this number. I don't know
what kind of market research they are doing, but that is almost certainly
what it is.
I'd be interested to know how the phone number was originally publicized --
perhaps they're trying to measure how quickly things like this spread by
word-of-mouth over the Internet (or just in general).
Perhaps we can foil their research by spreading this explanation around
just as widely. So pass it on! Tell all your friends! It's weird! Its
harmless! It's MARKET RESEARCH!
