>Thanx!

Ok... what you should do is send a buck to Nenslo at the address if you have
access to american currency. It's a Dokstok in Portland this year, basically
hosted by our good friends Nenslo and Cannobite. It's sure to be quite the bash,
and would be perfect except for the fact that I won't be there... (crowd
unanimously sighs: "Awwww...")

I'm sure that they will answer canadian mail too...

Contact Nenslo for more information. From last I heard, a few people were
actually planning on showing up, so get on that Bob-wagon and go west, young
mutant.

Of course you can also send *me* $2 (american), or a pack of some decent
canadian smokes for the latest issue of Ogyr Network...
That would be really nice. I'd love you forever. No, really! I would!

(but, I'd like the money... friggin' Chicago Con nabs me for parking... where's
the slack, "Bob"? where's the slack???)

The Tao of Bob, Chapter 1

The Bob that can be Bob'ed
is not the eternal Bob.
The Frop that can be Frop'ed
is not the eternal Frop.

The unnamable is eternal Bob.
Bob is origin of all nameable things.

Full of Slack, you realize the
mysteries of the subgenius.
Without Slack, you are pink.

But subgenii and pinks arise from
the same source.
This source is called Bob.

Bob within Bob.
The road to eternal Slack.

Our ShorDurPerSav Spotter Service recommendation
For the week of: 13 June 1994

Tiny Tim.

Absolutely. The only man in the world who could get a rock'n'roll crowd
stomping and hollering for such musical favorites as "I've Been Workin'
on the Railroad" and "It's A Grand Old Flag." His act consists of long
medlies of tunes, mostly from the Gay 90's (the previous ones), Tin Pan
Alley, and some Elvis Presley, all presented in an continuous rambling
free-association segments lasting about 15 minutes or so each. The he
pauses for a few bows, wipes his heavier-than-you-remember-it face, and
dives in for another set.

He's a Force of Nature. The Boddhisattva of Bizarre. Bob's Own
Minstrel.

See him if you dare.

(If possible, bring a date. If your weirdness potentials match on this
one, look no further. Contact Jay Leno immediately about the wedding
arrangements.)

Saturday was both Fathers' day here in Belgium (and elsewhere?) and my
birthday. Whilst walking along a busy, hyper-commercialised shopping
street here in Ghent, i was stunned to see several large colour posters
displayed in a record shop window featuring larger-than-life Dobbsheads.
Taking a closer look i discovered that they were in fact advertising
a special fathers day promotion for a bunch of CD's usually sold via
adverts on VTM (imagine all the worst aspects of TV compressed into a
single channel - that's VTM) - these were displayed orbitting "Bob"
at oblique angles & included 50's ROCK 'N' ROLL HITS, COUNTRY & WESTERN
HITS, MUSIC FROM THE WAR YEARS '40-'45, THE BEST OF THE SEVENTIES, and
MADE IN GERMANY (which features a lot of people with German names, as
well as a band (seriously) called WIND) - these all had appropriately
tacky covers. In the top-left corner it said simply
VOOR VADERDAG (for fathers day), and at the bottom something to the
effect of

"Who works so hard for his wife and children, and through whom are they
loved? It is (the) father..."

Sent shivers up my spine - either a SubGenius has infiltrated a design
agency somewhere, or there's some superdeterministic retro-causality at
work here. Best birthday present ever (i even managed to get my hands
on a copy - email me if you'd like to swap any interesting inanimate
objects, etc. for this wond'rous relic).

Praise "Bob",
Matthew Something
