Yesterday I bought a bicycle speedometer / odometer at K-Mart. For a
mere $13.37, I got a "Cyclecomputer" that calculated miles,
kilometers, elapsed time, calories burned (how do they know this?) and
something called "tempo", which I haven't figured out yet.

But the best part was the instruction booklet. It contained the sort
of fractured translations that I thought had all but disappeared in
today's sophisticated international market. Below are some excerpts:

Precautions

4. Pay more attention to your health, please. Have you a nice riding
every day.

5. Very important, this cyclecomputer is not auto shut off. Always
turn off power when not using. To save battery life.
