Too right - they've got time for old folks, not like most of yer
so-called cum-'E'-diens these days. Nowadays it's all sex and what-
have-you - in my day we had to make do on a pound of sugar a week,
and an egg each - that was our ration, you see, we never had bananas
during the War, you see, and so it was a really new thing for us it
was, seeing a banana for the first time, cos of course, owing to the
War we'd never had bananas, so to us kids it was a new thing, I
remember the day when the bananas first came in, and us kids didn't
know what to do with them, because, of course, we hadn't had no
bananas until then what with the War and everything. It's a shame
that Dustin Gee had to go, he was a nice man, had time for the old
folks, he did, not like your so-called `comedians` nowadays. Just
shows you, doesn't it? Reminds me of the time bananas first arrived
in London, because of course, owing to the War, we hadn`t had no
bananas, so us kids what were born during the war had never seen one,
